Career Exploration Counseling Services When you sign up for Career Counseling, you will receive: An extensive personal interview A battery of interest, academic, aptitude, and personality tests Interpretation of data as it pertains to career planning goals A feedback session to review testing results and career options An individualized report listing specific career target areas and labor market outlook information Why Consider Career Exploration Counseling Research shows that: 25% of freshmen leave their first college to attend another school by sophomore year, many reporting that their needs were not met. 31% of college entrants drop out before they complete their first semester. Over 50% of all college students make at least one change in their college major. 69% of adults believe they did not receive sufficient or satisfactory career guidance, and if able to repeat their adolescence, they would insist upon comprehensive career guidance. College is recommended to some students for whom another post-high school experience would be more appropriate while other students are discouraged from attending college even though it is an appropriate choice. Students who know what they want to pursue occupationally are more successful in college than those who do not have a career direction. How CEC Can Help 1.
